Everyone has different motivations for taking up scuba diving. Some people are just interested in breathing underwater, while others might be looking for new ways to challenge themselves and overcome fears. No matter what the reason is, we’re sure you have lots of questions before embarking on an underwater adventure…
How long will my taster dive last for?
After a quick safety briefing, it will be straight into the pool for a spot of underwater fun where you’ll be spending 60 to 90 minutes with one of our trained instructors!
How deep do I dive in the pool?
The common depths of taster dive pools are between 1 – 4 metres (3.3 – 13 feet) deep so you don’t need to worry about the pressure of water at large depths!
Do I need to be able to swim to scuba dive?
For safety reasons, there are some minimum swimming requirements. You will need to complete a 200-metre swim, float for ten minutes and complete some basic snorkelling skills.
The most important thing, however, is your level of comfort in the water so the more comfortable you are the more enjoyable your dive will be!
Do I need my own scuba gear?
No, it’s not necessary to bring any of your own scuba gear to go diving as all equipment is provided on the day, however, you will need to bring your own swimwear and a towel as the chances are you will get wet!
How do I do an open water dive?
Once you’ve tried a taster dive and been ‘bitten by the bug’, the next step is open water diving. Following your taster dive, you will be given information on how to progress your underwater adventures with PADI courses.
