Brighton Nightlife
Brighton has a diverse and quirky nightlife from burlesque dancing shows, retro-chic pubs to live music venues and lively karaoke bars and attracts stag parties from all over UK and Ireland. One of the big draws is the beachside clubs, which really buzzes in the summer. For example, one club situated on the seafront throws open its door when the weather is warm and stag parties are treated to a special Brighton clubbing experience right by the sea front.
B.Y.O drinks
Then there is Bring Your Own Cocktail bar, which is one of a kind in Brighton. No drinks on the premises because guests bring their own drinks and the bartenders mix each drink to order. This is a fun and very different kind of bar experience for the adventurous stag party.
Let’s go retro
The Mesmerist is one of Brighton’s most popular bars and has an interior that is inspired by 1930s burlesque venues. Music is retro from the 30s, 40s and 50s classics to jazz, swing and rock ‘n’ roll, the music. Into the mix comes the very unusual entertainment with circus performances, swing musicians, burlesque dancers and party DJs being featured on a regular basis. A quirky addition to your stag weekend.
Lap-dancing and sexy entertainment
Then we have the racy lap-dancing Platinum Lace Strip Club in the very centre of Brighton providing sensual entertainment for stag dos. Special package deals are available for your stag night out inside this plush night club with private booths and lots of attention from staff and performers.
Getting around Brighton City
Brighton City is easiest to navigate on foot and has distinct areas that will interest a stag party. First there are the famous Brighton lanes with narrow streets and the quirky cafes and craft beer pubs in the middle of the road. This area also features the Ghost Walk of the lanes, which is a 75 minute tour around Brighton’s oldest quarter visiting nine haunted locations.
Kempton is the area to head to if you want to get amongst arty types, as this is the cool artist quarter and home to one of the UK’s largest LGBTQ communities. You can also plan your stag party weekend to coincide with the Brighton Fringe Festival or Gay Pride, two of the biggest social events in the city. Both events have an eclectic mix of carnival fun, music and parades.
The seafront with it’s iconic pier is a must visit area. There are water-sports, such as kayaking, Stand-up paddle boarding (SUP) and of course classic fun on the beach activities such as frisbee or volleyball. A day at the beach has to include a trip to the iconic Brighton Palace Pier with its helter skelter and arcade games. Just next door you’ll find Sea Life Brighton home to giant turtles, sharks and seahorses.
To the east of the Pier is the historic Volks Railway – Britain’s oldest electric railway built in 1883. Head west and you’ll find the free Fishing Museum, tracing the city’s origins as a sleepy fishing village and a bit further along you’ll find British Airways i360– the world’s tallest moving observation tower. Glide up slowly to 450 ft in the giant glass-viewing pod – 10 times the size of a London Eye capsule. Enjoy 360-degree views across the rooftops of Brighton, up to the South Downs, across the coastline to the Seven Sisters and looking west to the Isle of Wight.
After dark, Brighton Beach really comes alive with Brighton’s seafront clubs and bars nestling underneath the Victorian beachfront arches, which are some of best night club nights in the country.
