This is your chance to get out of the car, feel the breeze in your hair, and chat directly to winemaker Rob Mack.

Your “Back of the Ute” Vineyard Wine Tasting Includes: Five to Seven Exquisite Wines: Savor the flavours of Rob Mack’s personally specially curated selection of wines for your tasting. This will span White and Red wines, from Aphelion’s drink-now Welkin Range, meticulously crafted Core range and world-class Reserve ranges. Rob is also pleased to offer you a splash of our special Cellar/Member Exclusive/s (when they're not sold out!). Personalized Experience: Your tasting at the Vineyard is exclusively for you and your group – no sharing! Rob will be there to cater to your tastes. It would be his pleasure to give you a taste of any specific wine you have in mind, don't hesitate to drop him a line beforehand. Unhurried Tasting: Take your time. Feel free to ask as many questions as you like. Rob is only too happy to take care of you while you enjoy the whole Aphelion experience.
The Vineyard Venue:
The venue for your tasting is a real, working vineyard owned by the Brini family whom are one of our most important growers. It is one of the best vineyards in McLaren Vale, in the Blewitt Springs dress circle for Grenache. And it just so happens to be an incredibly scenic spot. We will meet you and hold your tasting under the gum trees and right in front of the old bush vine Grenache.
There is easy access via Chalk Hill Road or Blewitt Springs Road, with off road parking.
Upon booking, map information will be sent to make finding the location simple.
Stunning views over the vineyards to the Mt Lofty Ranges beyond will capture your gaze as you sample the finished wine right in front of where it once grew.

To ensure a personalized experience, bookings for this exclusive experience are necessary, at least 24 hours in advance.
Your tasting at the Vineyard is exclusively for you and your group – no sharing!
What You Need to Know Before Arrival: The tasting fee for our Back Of The Ute “Vineyard Cellar Door” Tasting experience is $60pp, fully redeemable on the purchase of a Sun Lovers Wine Club Membership. Groups of up to 18 most welcome by appointment. We recommend you allow 1 hour for your tasting. If there is difficult weather, such as rain or extreme heat, this tasting will be rescheduled or relocated. For groups smaller than 10 in difficult weather this tasting will be relocated to be a seated tasting at Aphelion Cellar Door, at 67 Kays Road McLaren Vale which is 5 minutes from the vineyard. We will be in touch if this is the case. There are no toilet facilities up at the vineyard so please plan accordingly to use the bathroom before or after your visit.
We will provide filtered rainwater for drinking. We encourage you to drink well - not to excess.
