A well defined tramping track leads from the road end at Trilobite Hut up the valley, alongside the Cobb River.
Walk as far as you like as there are constant opportunities for picnicking, swimming and fishing abound with the chance to meet some locals.
Beyond Cobb Hut the track climbs for about 30 minutes to a series of glacier-worn rocky steps to Fenella Hut. Fenella Hut was built as a memorial to Fenella Druce who was killed when the Three Johns Hut was blown over a bluff in Aoraki/Mount Cook National Park.
On your walk to the Hut, make sure to grab a bite at Tent Hut (pictured), an old hunting tent. (Or, if empty, stay the night!)
