Itinerary

In our Chichen Itza Best Tour, meet your guide at your accommodation in Riviera Maya and head to Chichen Itza, the most famous and one of the best-preserved of the Maya sites in Yucatan. Once there, have a comprehensive walking tour to see all the main attractions and get some engaging insights into one of the greatest cities of this pre-Columbian civilization.

Afterward, go for a swim in a nearby Cenote Ik Kil. Measuring 40 meters deep and 60 meters in diameter, it’s arguably one of the most beautiful cenotes in Mexico. The waters of Ik Kil were considered sacred by the Mayans who performed here rituals to their rain god. For instance, evidence of this fact is bones and jewelry found in its deep waters by archaeologists and speleologists.

After a refreshing swim in the cenote and a buffet-style brunch of local specialties, continue to our next stop: Valladolid. Known in the past as the “Sultana of the East”, this colonial city is famous for its quiet streets and colorful pastel walls. There, together with your guide, visit the 16th-century Convent of San Bernardino of Siena, have a walking tour of Valladolid’s historic center, and wander through its colorful market.

After a day full of experiences and adventures, return to our vehicle and relax on the way back to your accommodation.

Logistics

DEPARTURE LOCATION AND TIME: Our guide will pick you up from your accommodation at the requested time and might need to contact you by phone. Therefore, please kindly provide a valid phone number during your booking. Complimentary pick-up and drop-off from Riviera Maya (Cancun-Tulum zone) are included: Please indicate the time and location for a pick-up during your booking (e.g. in the "Special Requirements" field).

TOUR DURATION AND CUSTOMIZATION: The standard duration of the tour counts from the moment of pick-up till drop-off. At the same time, the tour is customizable which means we can adjust the time you spend in each destination. Also, if you want to visit an extra location (attraction/restaurant/market, etc.), you can do it on a complimentary basis if this visit (1) fits the default duration of the tour and (2) doesn't involve a major change of the route. Other changes such as extending the tour duration, changing the route, and adding extra participants, should be communicated to the Company at least 48 hours before the tour and might involve an extra fee.

WHAT TO TAKE WITH YOU: Comfortable clothes and shoes; hat/cap, sunglasses and sunscreen; swimming suit and towel; travel insurance, personal ID; good mood and curiosity.
